LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display. Means this element consists of a liquid crystal layer and does not require as much energy to the screen, this technology is very popular in mobile devices. It is ideal for smartphones, because it can perform quite well under direct sunlight, because the entire display illuminated by the light from the background.

TFT LCD touchscreen

TFT stands for Thin Film Transistor. It is a type of LCD screen on mobile phone or smartphone, which more common type. Type of TFT offering better quality, including images and higher resolution than the previous-generation screens.

However, there is a limitation on the TFT screen for viewing angle and a narrow visibility when dealing with direct light or sunlight. TFT display consumes battery power that large enough, hence not good for long service. TFT display type is usually found on the SmartPhone in beginning class at a cheaper price.

LCD IPS touchscreen

IPS stands for In Place Switching. This type of screen has a better display viewing angle than the TFT screen. IPS screen on the Smartphone use battery power more efficient than TFT type, contributes so much longer battery life.

IPS display type widely used on smartphones in upper-middle class, high quality, and usually more expensive.

OLED touchscreen

OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode. This is a screen with newer technology, used in smartphones and monitors.

OLED technology has a layer of organic material, carbon-based. It is located between two layers called the anode and cathode, placed between layers of the upper and lower plate of glass.

OLED screen is much better than the type of LCD screen because it produces exceptional color, has a faster response speed, a wider viewing angle, higher brightness and a very light weight.

AMOLED touchscreen

AMOLED stands for Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode. It is a type of OLED screens used in high-quality smartphone.

AMOLED screen has all the features and functionality of the OLED display type, such as producing brilliant colors, better battery power, higher brightness, sharpness and light weight design.

The Super AMOLED touchscreen

Super AMOLED is the kind of advanced version of the screen with AMOLED display type, alias stands for Super Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode. This screen type was developed by the vendor of Samsung.

Super AMOLED screen, has touch sensors on the display itself, as opposed to external sensitive touch to create a separate layer.

The Super AMOLED display made thinner and far more responsive than other AMOLED type screen.

Retina display

Retina is a term first used by Apple Inc. for the type of high-resolution IPS display, for example: there is the model of the iPhone 4. Apple calls the Retina display because pixels are hard to identify individually by the human eye, the retina display screen makes super sharp and brilliant color.
